TV/Radio Chief Engineer
Position: Full-Time, Exempt, Regular Status.
Compensation: Salary, plus benefits package
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: This position oversees the operation, maintenance and regulatory compliance of the transmission facilities and associated translators in the Portland region. This includes high-power FM radio and VHF/UHF television transmitters and low power translators. This position also manages the maintenance and repair of all microwave and ancillary equipment within the region and provides on-site support for the joint management of the Skyline Tower, LLC transmission site.
Working Conditions: This position is based in a building at the Skyline Tower transmission site. The Portland region currently spans from Astoria to The Dalles, Oregon.
The broadcast facilities are a 24-hour/day operation, this position is required to report to work during inclement weather conditions and respond to technical and production emergencies. May be required to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays. This position may also be required to be included in the on-call rotation.
Regular travel to remote facilities, such as translator and microwave sites may be required. Travel and work at remote sites requires the operation of 4-wheel drive vehicles and may include a track snow vehicle. The work may require arduous physical activity, including walking/hiking extended distances for lengthy periods of time, climbing towers and working in inclement weather. Regular use of hand tools, electronic test equipment, and power tools, including chainsaws; may involve working alone. Must be able to lift equipment weighing up to 75 lbs. Potential exposure to high voltages and radio frequency radiation is possible at most sites.
Required Qualifications:
* Five years experience maintaining and servicing RF transmission
systems.
* Knowledge of technical design, construction maintenance and operation of RF
transmission and broadcast systems.
* Experience planning for current and future projects.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to interact with co-workers and the general public in a professional
manner.
* Competent operation of 4-wheel drive vehicle; valid driver's license and clean
driving record.
* Ability to work alone and demonstrable display of resourcefulness,
independence and ability to be a self-starter.
* Demonstrated organizational and time management skills; ability to
successfully manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
* Strong computer skills, especially in Word and Excel, and a capacity to
quickly learn new software programs.
* Comfortable working in a rapidly changing technological environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Lead engineer experience; SBE certification; Visio and/or AutoCad experience; familiarity working in IP including local area networking, file handling and protocol management as it relates to the broadcast environment.

TV Master Control Operator
Position: Part-time (on-call) position.
Compensation: $14.48/hour - $18.11/hour (DOQ)
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Perform functions and activities required
to maintain an efficient and accurate acquisition and disbursement of program
materials. The Operator must execute this in a precise and aesthetic manner,
maintaining the highest technical standards, in compliance with prescribed
schedules, OPB standards, and FCC guidelines.
Working Conditions: Normally works indoors in an environmentally controlled TV technical center. May be required to work extended periods of time without leaving the work area. Must have a flexible work schedule due to broadcasting materials and events. Regular need to lift videotape and other program materials of up to 25 lbs. to heights of five feet and above.
Required Qualifications:
* One year, full-time experience, as a broadcast Master Control operator,
including experience utilizing and maintaining master control automation
systems.
* Experience with ingest, preparation and playback of broadcast
materials from broadcast servers.
* Ability to manage stress with frequent
pressure to meet deadlines.

Director, Production Services - TV Production
Position: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Regular Status

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Direct, oversee, and proactively manage the
day-to-day operations of TV Production services. Manage the people, equipment
and facilities for internal and external TV productions. Working Conditions:
Most work is in an office, studio or other indoor location. Must be available
for scheduling consultation with internal and external clients outside normal
working hours. Extended periods of sitting and standing may be necessary,
including use of a computer. Ongoing multiple deadlines. Some lifting and
carrying (up to 50 lbs.) which may include heavy and/or delicate equipment.
Occasional travel. Required Qualifications:
* 5 Years (full-time) progressively responsible experience in broadcast TV production, with at least 2 full years that include the management and supervision of multiple TV production employees, projects and processes. * Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills. * Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and work constructively with colleagues in a creative, collaborative, multiple department, multiple project environment. * Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and competing priorities. * Demonstrated skill and successful experience in change management, including creating efficiencies and implementing new and emerging technologies. * Demonstrated proficiency working with database, spreadsheet, word processing and other software programs. * Excellent communication and customer service skills. * Demonstrated ability to work well with diverse personalities and varying levels of production knowledge/experience. * Skills in conflict resolution.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in public broadcasting. * Experience in documentary and/or news magazine format. * Knowledge of television production equipment, including cameras, edit and audio systems * Experience as a videographer and/or editor. * Bachelor's degree in a related field.
